Ambani tips former Kenya Police ace Bajaber to shine at Simba

Former Kenyan international Boniface Ambani has backed Bejaber Mohammed to hit the ground running as he starts his tenure with Tanzanian side Simba Sports Club.

Bajarber is one of the three players to have left the camp for greener pastures, following the earlier departures of forwards Emmanuel Osoro and Moses Shummah.

“He is a top talent, and he is developing every time he is on the pitch.

“That is an excellent opportunity for him because it will expose him more to the continent and the world.

“I believe with hard work and discipline, he will be a great player for the club and country,” said Ambani.

The former AFC Leopards striker backed head coach Bennie McCarthy to devise a quick solution with the assistance of his technical director, but he also said it might take time to work.

“Any time a national team coach names their provisional squad, then he knows the quality of players he is working with and what they can deliver in such cases, so I trust the technical bench to deal with that comfortably,” added Ambani

According to former Stars head coach Twahir Muhidiin, in such a situation, a coach needs to call up a player who is quick to learn their philosophy.

“What needs to be done in such a situation is to get a replacement that is quick to learn the coach’s philosophy easily so that he can adjust with the rest of the team faster, basically a first learner,” stated the veteran tactician.

Stars will begin their campaign against DR Congo on Sunday at Kasarani.
