Where is Mokowe in Kenya? The officer, identified as Mose, who carried out the heinous act in Mokowe, Lamu county, was accused of fatally shooting his lover Sheila Kemunto and her five-year-old daughter after a suspected domestic dispute.  Neighbours reportedly heard a heated fight the previous night, that was believed to have caused the fatal shootings at around 5 am on Sunday, May 11. Speaking at home, Kemunto’s sister identified as Tecla, shared that the GSU officer had visited the mother of two and that is why they disconnected the phone. “Before the knock he had alleged that the man was disturbing him. Earlier, Sheilla said that he was was forcing her to have his baby and also get married him,” said Tecla.

“My mum revealed that Kemunto had been through so much in earlier relationship that resulted in her two children and she wanted to take her time to know if her new man would take good care and them (her and the kids),” she added. Why did Mose and Kemunto argue? It emerged that Mose also wanted Sheila to visit his home as a second wife but she asked him to first visit her home first and he had yet to do it. “I think that is what caused him to commit the heinous crime,” she said. Tecla also revealed that the Kemunto had another child and she was the one who had been taking care of him and going to visit the young man at school. “It will be very hard to tell him that his mother and sister are not alive anymore. Relatives please help us so that I can be the mother he was always seeing,” said Tecla.

According to Lamu County Commissioner Wesley Koech, the incident was under investigation to determine the exact cause and motive. Sheilla Kemunto’s mum and relative speaking about her death.  Kenyans react to the video: @emmaculatemoraa5501: “Take heart madam, Sheilah my schoolmate both primary and secondary rest in peace 😭it really pains😭.” @MercylineNyarangi-v6j: “Pole sana madam Teresa for the loss may the almighty give u strength.” @sharonnyangara2608: “Poleni sana to the family..may God give you strength in these dark days❤.” @Edu12616: “If you want time na mtu hujaamua if utakaa naye instead ya kukaa pamoja kila mtu akae kifyake tembeleana once mpaka mkiamua staying together forever ndo mtu asikasirike na mwingine ilete shida.”
