A middle-aged man from Nanyuki, Laikipia County, was on Friday sentenced to 40 years behind bars for defiling a 10-year-old girl and deliberately infecting her with HIV/AIDS.
The offender is said to have committed the heinous act in May 2023 at Makandura in Laikipia North sub-county.
While delivering the ruling, Nanyuki Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mararo emphasized that the testimony of the four witnesses presented by the prosecution undeniably established the guilt of the accused in perpetrating the offense.
