I will send you home even if you make yourself IEBC chair – Kalonzo to President Ruto

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto over the appointment of new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials, accusing him of disregarding the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.

Speaking at the burial of Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve in Nzeluni, Migwani Ward, Kitui County, Kalonzo accused the Head of State of acting unilaterally by selecting the IEBC chairperson and commissioners without consultation.

“I have written to President Ruto and my brother Raila Odinga over this blatant disregard of NADCO recommendations. Neither of them has responded,” Kalonzo said before a sombre crowd.

The former Vice President did not mince words as he declared his determination to challenge Ruto’s administration ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“Even if he makes himself the IEBC chair, we shall still send him home,” Kalonzo thundered. “Kenya must be liberated from the yoke of bad leadership.”

His sentiments were echoed by DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa, who joined Kalonzo in condemning what they termed as dictatorial tendencies by the Kenya Kwanza regime.

The leaders also raised concern over the circumstances surrounding the death of MCA Munuve, who passed away on April 22, 2025. An autopsy indicated he died from a blood clot, but Kalonzo expressed skepticism.

“We are waiting for further results from samples sent abroad. We won’t allow a return to an era of political assassinations,” Kalonzo warned.
