Battle to succeed Raila as ODM chief

 

ODM party leader Raila Odinga has insisted that both Joho and Oparanya will succeed him at the helm of the party if he wins AU top job.

The battle of Raila’s succession in ODM is largely between Oparanya and Joho who serve as his two deputies.

Raila triggered more confusion last week when he endorsed them.

Some politicians from his Luo Nyanza turf want his succession race to be wide open to all interested candidates and not limited to just Joho and Oparanya, arguing that the region must get its fair share in leadership as the party’s political bedrock
