South Africa: Forty-five out of the 46 occupants of a bus died in a nasty accident in northern Johannesburg on Thursday, March 29. What caused tragic South African bus accident? According to witnesses at the scene, the vehicle burst into flames landing down the bridge. An eight-year-old girl was the only survivor; she was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the crash. “The bus had a total of 46 people on board, including the driver. It has a Botswana registration number, and a process to confirm the citizenship of the victims will only commence after the foreign missions of both South Africa and Botswana have verified their citizenships. Only one child, an 8-year-old, survived the accident and is receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital,” said the Limpopo Department of Transport. The driver of the bus lost control before diving off the Mma Matlakala Bridge down a 50-metre gorge. The tragic road carnage added to many others in recent days in which several lives were lost.
