Eight politicians including three governors and five MPs risk being disqualified from Tuesday’s elections if they do not pay a total of Sh10.5 million by the end of Friday.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Thursday fined the eight for breach of electoral code of conduct, bringing the total amount it has collected so far from errant politicians to Sh15 million.

His Mandera counterpart Ali Roba was fined Sh1 million for violence that broke out when President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed rallies in the county.
His Economic Freedom Party challenger Hassan Noor was ordered to pay Sh3 million for the same spate of violence.

His Jubilee challenger Mohamed Mohamoud will have to fork out Sh1 million for the chaos.
The IEBC also fined five MPs for offences ranging from violence and use of party colours and images of President Kenyatta and his main rival Raila Odinga when they were independent candidates.
The fines are issued by IEBC Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee chaired by chairman Wafula Chebukati.
