Uhuru, Raila share platform at former Nairobi mayor’s burial

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa principal Raila Odinga have shared a platform for the first time since the nullification of the August 8 presidential election results by the Supreme Court.
The two, and a number of leaders, mostly from Jubilee are attending the burial of former Nairobi Mayor Samuel Mbugua, father of former Nairobi Woman Representative Rachael Shebesh, at his Marion Farm House home in Kiambu.
President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga have held hard stances regarding the repeat of the presidential election, with the Nasa leader insisting that his demands must be met before the election is held afresh.
Among the leaders present include Kaimbu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo, former Nyadarua Governor Waithaka Mwangi and former Nyandarua woman representative Wanjiku Muhia.
Mr Odinga’s attendance signifies his sustained friendship with Mr Mbugua’s family.
Mr Mbugua worked with him in ODM.
At the same time, ODM nominated Ms Shebesh to parliament between 2007 and 2012 before she decamped to Mr Kenyatta’s The National Alliance (TNA) party in 2012.
