Detectives from the flying squad unit on Friday arrested a police constable attached to Pokot South for allegedly stealing a car from the Units Yard in 2017 .
According to a tweet by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), the constable, Elias Shikuku is accused of stealing the said vehicle; a Toyota Land Cruiser, which had been detained, changed its number plates and sold it.
“Detectives launched investigations after it was found missing and recovered it in Mombasa bearing a different number plate,”read the tweet.
The suspect who is a former member of the Flying Squad Unit will remain in custody awaiting to be arraigned in court.
