Renewed clashes between two communities fighting over water and grazing land have claimed two lives in Giresa, Marsabit County.
Saku Deputy County Commissioner Joseph Nyakwara told Nation that another victim is nursing gunshot injuries at Marsabit Referral Hospital.
Mr Nyakwara said tension is high in the area and urged residents to put aside their differences and embrace peace as the year ends.
In the recent past, the region has been rocked by intermittent clashes that have claimed many lives.
