Gabow visits ailing IG Hillary Mutyambai in hospital

Acting Inspector General Noor Gabow on Monday visited Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai in hospital.

Gabow said he had a hearty chat with the IG on various issues.

“The entire National Police Service fraternity takes this opportunity to wish the IG speedy and full recovery,” NPS said in a tweet.

The police service wished the IG speedy recovery.

Mutyambai said from August 26, he will be away from the office for medical check-up and assigned Gabow to take charge.

“In my absence, Noor Gabow, the Deputy Inspector General – Administration Police Service, will act as the Inspector General of the National Police Service until my return,” he said in a statement.

It is the first time Mutyambai delegated his mandate for medical reasons.

Officials said he was initially admitted to the Aga Khan hospital’s high dependency unit (HDU) but has been improving steadily.
