Defy Ruto and become next president – Manyora tells Mudavadi

Political Analyst Herman Manyora has told Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi that he has the potential of becoming the Head of State.

On Sunday, Manyora took to Twitter telling the Prime CS that he can be the next president in the 2027 general elections.

“Musalia Mudavadi, You can become President. Not in 2032. Musalia Mudavadi, become president in 2027,” Manyora said.

In his opinion, for Mudavadi to become the president, he must move to defy the sitting President, William Ruto.

“To achieve this Luhya dream, you have to defy William Ruto and that act of courage will deliver the presidency,” he told Mudavadi.

Manyora said before anyone can dismiss the idea that Mudavadi can be president, they ought to know it is not always the dramatic ones that make it.

“Before you dismiss Musalia Mudavadi, ask yourself how Kibaki and Moi became president. It’s not always the dramatic who becomes president,” he said.

The Prime CS got into the political arena in 1989 when he was elected MP for Sabatia Constituency.

Mudavadi has also served in different ministries such as the Ministry of Finance between 1993 and 1997.

He also served as the minister for agriculture, Transport, and Communication between 2001 and 2002.

In 2002, Mudavadi was appointed as the Vice President by former President Daniel Moi.

However, he only served as Kenya’s seventh VP for three months- the shortest sting in Kenya’s history so far.

Additionally, Mudavadi was ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s running mate in the 2007 general elections.

Following the chaos and anarchy that erupted in that election, the grand coalition government was formed and Mudavadi ended up being Deputy Prime Minister till 2013.

Early last year, Mudavadii deffected from Raila’s camp and joined Ruto in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance which ended up winning the general elections on August 9, 2022.

Following the victory, Mudavadi was appointed the Prime Cabinet Secretary, though the appointment received a lot of backlash on grounds that no such position exists in the constitution.    BY THE STAR
