Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced system maintenance in parts of seven counties on Tuesday, June 30. Kenya Power announces outages in parts of seven counties on Tuesday, June 30. The outages would last at least one hour in some areas, with a maximum of nine hours in some regions. According to KPLC, the outages are necessary to enhance new connections, upgrades, and replacement of power lines. “Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules That the electricity supply will be interrupted as follows: It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically in order to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network, to connect new customers, or to replace power lines during road construction,” KPLC stated in a notice. Additionally, the maintenance will also stabilise the grid to prevent frequent power outages. Businesses and customers in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during the maintenance period. Which regions will face power cuts tomorrow?
