Kenya nears completion of National Peacebuilding Architecture review

Kenya is at the tail end of reviewing its National Peacebuilding Architecture as part of the wider efforts to promote sustainable peace.

Speaking when he presided over the official opening of the 2023 Biennial International Peace Conference, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said that once unveiled, the execution of the architecture would reinforce Kenya’s position as a global and regional leader in peace building.

PS Omollo urged scholars and practitioners in the peace-buidling sector to collaborate with the government in developing preemptive and preventive measures in the pursuit of lasting peace and security in Kenya.

The three-day conference is focused on incorporating African-centric values into peace-building processes.

The event, organized by the Africa International University, will also examine Kenya’s experiences in areas of peace and conflict.
