Losing money to someone who refuses to pay back can be extremely painful and frustrating. For Peter, a businessman from Machakos, Kenya, this experience almost pushed him into depression. He had trusted someone close to him with a large amount of money, believing it would be returned within a short time. Months passed, excuses increased, and eventually, the person stopped picking his calls completely. What started as patience slowly turned into anger, stress, and sleepless nights.
Peter explained that the money was meant to expand his business. Without it, everything stalled. Suppliers demanded payment, employees depended on him, and his reputation began to suffer. He tried all normal methods to recover the money. He pleaded, involved family members, and even threatened legal action, but nothing worked. “The more I demanded my money, the more the person avoided me,” Peter said. “It was like I was talking to a wall.”
