One person has been confirmed dead following a road accident that occurred in Keumbu area along the Kisii–Keroka road.
According to police reports, a Kisii Classic bus traveling from Nairobi lost control, after suspected brake failure.
The bus first rammed into a private vehicle that was parked by the roadside before colliding with a matatu that was heading from Kisii to Keroka.
The matatu was hit on the right side, causing it to overturn. One passenger died on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries.
The injured were rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Police officers arrived at the scene and have launched investigations into the cause of the accident.
