KWS announces festive season offers

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has rolled out festive season discounts across national parks, sanctuaries, and marine parks, offering visitors a chance to enjoy Kenya’s wildlife at reduced cost as the year draws to a close.

In a statement issued on Friday, December 26, the conservation authority announced a series of group offers running until December 31, 2025.

The offers included several incentives, among them an extra night for visitors who book a minimum number of days at selected park accommodations.

Visitors who book three consecutive nights at participating park lodges or camps will enjoy a complimentary fourth night, allowing them to spend more time experiencing wildlife and nature without incurring extra accommodation costs.

“Staying longer? Book three nights and get the fourth night free in selected park accommodations,’ the statement said.

The offer targets families, tour groups and holidaymakers looking to extend their stay in parks during the festive period.

“As we unwrap the season’s wildest gift, gather your family and friends and enjoy special group offers across Kenya’s parks, sanctuaries and marine parks,” KWS said, urging Kenyans not to miss out as only a few days remain before the promotion lapses.

According to the authority, the accommodation offer applies to selected KWS-managed facilities.

The move is part of a broader push to encourage longer stays and boost domestic tourism during the holiday season.

Beyond accommodation, KWS also unveiled multiple entry incentives designed to make park visits more affordable for groups.

Families of five visiting sanctuaries and marine parks will be allowed one child aged between six and 17 years to enter for free.

Similarly, for every five passengers travelling in a five-seater vehicle, one child will be granted free entry.

Larger groups also stand to benefit. KWS said visitors arriving in a full 25-seater bus will enjoy free entry for two adults, while those travelling in seven-seater vans or eight-seater Land Cruisers will receive free entry for one adult.

The authority noted that the festive offers are valid exclusively for Kenyan citizens and will run until December 31, with terms and conditions applying.

The discounts are intended to make wildlife tourism more accessible to local travellers at a time when many families are on holiday.

In addition to announcing the offers, KWS wished Kenyans a happy Boxing Day, sharing a poster alongside its message reading: “Here’s to unwrapping the season’s wildest gift: Happy Boxing Day.”

“Make memories, reconnect with nature, and close the year surrounded by Kenya’s wildlife,” KWS said, calling on families and groups to take advantage of the limited-time offers.

With only a few days left before the year ends, the authority urged interested visitors to book early to avoid missing out, describing the festive promotions as an opportunity to celebrate the season while supporting conservation and tourism across the country.
