Heartbreaking Moment Cyrus Jirongo’s 3 Wives Introduced Themselves to Mourners

The mourning period for the late former Lugari MP and Cabinet Minister, Cyrus Jirongo, took a poignant turn on Sunday as his three wives were officially introduced to the public for the first time since his tragic passing.

Gathered at their opulent family residence in Gigiri, Nairobi, hundreds of mourners witnessed a rare moment of unity within a prominent polygamous household.

The three women stood together to receive condolences, marking a formal acknowledgement of the family structure that Jirongo had often spoken about with trademark candour.

A Public Introduction at a Nairobi Home

The introduction was facilitated by the funeral steering committee, which is currently managing the transition and burial arrangements for the veteran politician.

The three wives were introduced by their first names —Christine, Anne ‘Mkubwa’, and another Ann. They were presented to the visitors as the women who shared the life of the man often remembered as a billionaire power broker.

“We are speechless. Thank you all for standing with us,” said one of the wives.

“As much as we feel the pain, we are comforted by the love that he showed us. We just want to thank you because it would be very heavy without your support,” another wife added.

The atmosphere at the Nairobi home was one of somber reflection. Leaders, family friends, and political allies from across the country filled the compound to pay their respects following the fatal road crash on December 13, 2025.

Reflections on a Polygamous Life

Jirongo never shied away from discussing his personal life. In various past interviews and public addresses, he openly advocated for polygamy, viewing it as a traditional and civilised way of life.

However, he was also brutally honest about the challenges of such unions. Just months before his death, during a memorial for his late daughter Lorraine Jelagat, Jirongo reflected on his first marriage to Caroline.

He famously admitted that he was the one to blame for their eventual divorce, blaming his ever-wandering eyes.

Road Crash and Final Journey

Jirongo’s life came to a sudden end at 2 A.M. along the Nakuru–Nairobi Highway near the Karai area. According to early reports, his Mercedes-Benz collided head-on with a Climax bus.

The family has called for a thorough investigation into his final movements, questioning why he was in Naivasha at that hour when he was expected home in Nairobi.

Jirongo will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 30th December, at his home in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.
