Two killed in head-on collision on Ahero–Katito road

Two people died on Tuesday evening following a road accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger service matatu on the Ahero–Katito road.

According to a police statement, the motorcycle was travelling towards Ahero when the rider attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided head-on with an oncoming matatu.

The pillion passenger died at the scene, while the rider was rushed to Ahero Sub-County Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police report that two occupants of the matatu sustained minor injuries and have since been treated and discharged.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and strictly observe road safety rules to prevent similar incidents.
