For years, Beatrice from Kisumu, Kenya, felt invisible in her own home. Her husband never listened to her opinions, ignored her requests, and often made decisions without consulting her. She tried to speak up, but every attempt was met with anger, silence, or ridicule. Over time, she felt her confidence eroding, and she began to believe that being disrespected in her marriage was her fate.

Beatrice tried to fix the situation on her own. She read books about strong relationships, attended community seminars, and even sought advice from friends.
