How Kithure Kindiki criticised Rigathi Gachagua In his rallies, Kindiki chided Gachagua, who has also pitched a tent in the constituency campaigning for the Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) candidate, Newton Karish.

Kindiki slammed his predecessor, accusing him of using the campaigns to insult local leaders, including Governor Cecily Mbarire. The second-in-command said those in the forefront chest-thumping and insulting local leaders occupied senior positions in government previously but did nothing to improve the lives of people in the area. “You did nothing when you were in office, now you are here lecturing us and insulting Embu leaders who were elected by wananchi. This is not acceptable and the era of pride and insults has come to an end,” Kindiki said. The deputy president affirmed the ruling coalition’s full support for Leo’s candidacy, citing his suitability and optimal position to accelerate ongoing projects and advance the constituency. Are opposition planning to cause chaos in Mbeere North At the same time, Kindiki cautioned the United Opposition against sponsoring chaos in Mbeere North ahead of the November 27 by-election.

The second-in-command claimed some leaders in the opposition have resorted to violence in an attempt to disrupt peace in the constituency. According to Kindiki, President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance government will not entertain any form of violence in the upcoming mini-poll. “We cannot allow some people to incite us against each other yet we know the challenges we are facing as the people of Mt Kenya East. We don’t have a problem with our opponents but we cannot allow one person who is sponsoring goons to drive a wedge among our peaceful people of Embu and Mbeere North,” the DP warned. Gachagua has been running door-to-door campaigns, asking the residents to vote for the DP candidate. UDA’s legal counsel, Adrian Kamotho, backed Mbarire’s concerns, questioning the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) presence in the Mbeere North by-election. According to Kamotho, DCP have no candidate in the Mbeere North by-election; hence, they can easily cause chaos, as they have not signed the election code of conduct with IEBC.
