Moses explained that his grandfather had begun experiencing mild memory loss, but he was managing it. Routine walks were a normal part of Ogari’s day, and he would always return home. However, Moses noted that on three occasions, Ogari had left home and forgotten his way back. The memory loss was not severe, and whenever he got lost, he would inform the boda boda men at the village centre to help him get home. Most of them know him, as it’s a small village, and they would always ensure he was returned home safely.
He also has poor eyesight,” Moses said. The concerned young man explained that on the day his grandfather left again, the family expected him to return, but he never did. Despite efforts to search the village, no trace of him has been found. Ten months later, the family remains desperate to find him. Nakuru man, Justus Ongari Ogari went missing while taking a stroll. Moses shared that Ogari was last seen leaving his home near Barut Primary School, possibly heading towards Kaptembwa Estate or Kapkures, areas he frequently visited. Moses described his grandfather as wearing a cream shirt, a brown jacket, and dark green trousers. He is dark in complexion, with long grey hair, and stands at 5 feet 4 inches tall. “He is still strong and likely just wandered too far and got lost. He speaks English, Kiswahili, and Kisii. We are deeply worried because it’s been so long, and we still have no tangible leads,” Moses said. The family has appealed to Kenyans of goodwill to help bring their grandfather back home. They have also urged anyone with information about the elderly man to contact the nearest police station or reach Moses directly on 0723 257 701 or 0788 816 701.
