How President Ruto helped needy family Moments after delivering his speech, President Ruto returned to the podium to address a concern raised by members of the congregation.
According to him, churchgoers had informed him about one of their members from a sister church, PAG, whose family had been in distress since the death of their loved one six years ago. The family had been unable to lay their relative to rest due to a lack of land, leaving the body in the mortuary for all those years. “That bishop from the PAG church has informed me that there is a congregant whose body has been in the mortuary for six years,” President Ruto said while addressing the issue. Deeply moved by their situation, the president announced that he would personally assist the family by helping them buy land to finally bury their loved one and find closure. “I am going to help you with KSh 2 million for you to buy land so that the burial plans can be made.
Do not stay quiet with such issues for so long; you know in those six years the family has been in pain,” he said, explaining how the family would receive the funds. I am persuaded that once the body is out of morgue, it will be buried no matter how poor a family is. in this case, should we regulate morgues? Why would a body be held for 6 years?”
