Mama Ngina Kenyatta Makes Rare Appearance as She Condoles with Ida Odinga

Kenya’s former first lady, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, has made a rare public appearance. The Kenyatta family has continued to show support for the Odingas. Mama Ngina Kenyatta visited Ida Odinga. For instance, former president Uhuru Kenyatta touched many Kenyans after visiting Raila Odinga’s family shortly after the ODM leader’s burial. Uhuru visited Raila’s grave alongside Oburu Odinga and several relatives before heading to the family’s Opoda farm home. He spent time with Raila’s widow, children, and close family members, who warmly received him. Many Kenyans praised the former head of state for his show of friendship and compassion toward the Odinga family during their time of mourning.

Mama Ngina Kenyatta visits Ida Odinga Mama Ngina, the widow of founding president Jomo Kenyatta and Uhuru’s mother, reappeared on Thursday, October 30, to console Raila’s family. Images shared by Uhuru’s social media strategist, Pauline Njoroge, depicted the graceful matriarch wearing an African-inspired outfit comprising a top and a matching skirt. On her finger was a gold ring; she also wore a matching wristband and a pearl necklace. The family matriarch donned a wig and smiled warmly as she embraced Ida Odinga. Another photo showed Mama Ngina accompanied by Muhoho Kenyatta, George Muhoho, and other family members as they presented a bouquet to Ida. Winnie Odinga was also present, and they posed for a photo at the Odinga family home in Nairobi. “Today, Mama Ngina Kenyatta visited Mama Ida Odinga to console her. She was accompanied by Mohoho Kenyatta, George Muhoho and other family members,” Pauline captioned the images.

Many Kenyans admired Mama Ngina’s timeless appearance and praised the strong bond between the Kenyatta and Odinga families, noting that their show of unity reflected a shared legacy of respect and friendship across generations.
