Emotions ran high as the father of late journalist Kimani Mbugua shared a heartbreaking and deeply personal tribute to his son. Kimani Mbugua’s Father Recounts Losing His School Same Day Son Died 29 Years Later Source: Facebook While addressing mourners, he revealed a chilling coincidence between his son’s death and a painful tragedy that struck him 29 years ago. Kimani Mbugua’s dad shares haunting revelation The grief-stricken father disclosed that his son died on October 14, the very same date he lost his multimillion-shilling school nearly three decades earlier.  The revelation left many in shock, with mourners describing it as a haunting twist of fate that compounded an already devastating loss.

“All was destroyed. When I look at this home, I always ask God what happened. My son has left me when he is 29 years old,” he stated. He added that the date his son rested, October 14, is the same day he closed a school worth KSh 31 million, a coincident that has left him shocked. His words painted a picture of a man carrying the double weight of grief, mourning his son while reliving a painful memory of loss from his past. Mystery in Kimani Mbugua’s demise The tragic coincidence between his death and his father’s earlier loss has now added a layer of mystery and sadness to the family’s mourning. Some mourners were heard murmuring prayers of comfort, while others quietly wept as the father spoke. The man was a devoted father who stood by Kimani through his mental health struggles, praying for his full recovery and holding onto hope that his son would reclaim the bright future he once had. Kimani’s sudden death came months after he left rehabilitation and publicly rededicated his life to God.

Tragic end to Kimani Mbugua’s life As the family prepares for Kimani’s burial, they are appealing for prayers and support to help them through what they describe as an “unimaginable season of loss.” For Kimani’s father, October 14 will forever remain a date marked by heartbreak, a reminder of two profound losses separated by time but united by pain. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Kimani Mbugua’s rise and fall The former Citizen TV and NTV journalist had been open about his battle with bipolar disorder, a condition that had derailed his once-promising career and thrust him into the public eye for all the wrong reasons. But even amid his challenges, Kimani’s transparency inspired countless Kenyans to talk openly about mental health, a legacy that will live on. Former colleagues and friends have continued to send their condolences, recalling Kimani’s energy, warmth, and talent as a storyteller.
