Maseno School in Mourning after Former Teacher Who Lost Wife 3 Years Ago Dies in US

A school has joined a family in mourning the untimely and unfortunate demise of a loved one who will surely be missed. Former Maseno School teacher Steve Omondi Jaboma.  Steve Jaboma’s sad news caught many by surprise and left them devastated, as he was a good man. When did Steve Jaboma die? The former teacher met his fate on the morning of Tuesday, October 7, following an underlying medical condition. “It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of Steve Omondi (Jaboma). He had travelled to the United States to visit his family when he fell ill and sadly passed on while there. Steve lost his dear wife three years ago.

Let’s keep his children in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” The Maseno School Kenya (Est. 1906) shared. Jaboma, known for his towering height, was a high school teacher who taught at Maseno School in the early 2000s. Which high school did Jaboma teach? Another mourner noted that Jaboma had also taught him at a different secondary school for four years. “I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my high school math teacher, Steve Omondi, fondly known as Omosh. He taught me for four good years at Kahawa Garrison Secondary School, and he was more than just a teacher. He was a father figure, a mentor, and a source of wisdom. Always ready with life-changing advice, he guided us not just through equations, but through life itself. Thank you, Omosh, for the lessons, the discipline, and the care. Your impact will never be forgotten,” Wachara Jevence shared. Jaboma had travelled abroad when he met his demise, and the sad news spread like wildfire across the internet.

What was Jaboma doing in US? He passed away at Baystate Hospital in Massachusetts, United States of America (USA). He had travelled to the US to visit his family when he fell ill and sadly passed on while there. “Steve lost his dear wife three years ago. Let’s keep his children in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Life truly is short. Steve once taught at Maseno School, and later at the Technical University of Mombasa, where he was my colleague in the Department of Information and Technology Studies,” The Maseno School Kenya (Est. 1906).” post added. Jaboma’s last Facebook post was dated Saturday Septemver 13 as he shared a reel with his photos. Kenyans mourn Steve Jaboma after sudden death Several social media users mourned Jaboma in emotional and heartfelt posts as they struggled to come to terms with the loss. Fidel Oderah: “I have no words. When I couldn’t take the bullies anymore, your friendship and true passion for our well-being became the reason I stayed at Maseno School. Wow! God takes the best. What a life. Rest in power, Mwalimu.”

Nicholas Ochieng’: “Those stories you tell with a lump in your throat… and with that lump, the whole story is told. I’ve lost another tall one — Steve Jaboma. This teacher-friend of mine made me fall in love with the study of numbers.” Maxwell Brown: “I am deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Mr. Steve Jaboma, my mentor, a father, and a friend. Indeed, heaven has robbed us of an angel. Shine on your way, sir; you will forever remain in our hearts.” Amin Amin Dadaz: “May the Almighty grant you eternal rest, Steve Jaboma, and give your family the strength to bear this loss.”
