Big win for Sonko as High Court orders release of KSh537M frozen by ARA

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko scored a major legal victory after the High Court dismissed an application by the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA) to seize KSh537 million in his bank accounts over alleged money laundering.

Justice Nixon Sifuna ruled that ARA failed to provide evidence linking Sonko to illicit financial dealings and ordered the immediate release of the frozen funds.

The decision marks a significant win for Sonko, who has been battling multiple legal hurdles since leaving office.
