Migori: Residents of Rongo decry persistent power outages

Residents of Rongo town in Migori County have decried constant power outages.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, residents called on Kenya Power to address the issue promptly.

Led by Rongo Bunge la Wananchi caucus Chairperson Timon Omiti and Luo Council of Elders youth representative Peter Otiang’a, the residents highlighted that the persistent power outages have severely impacted businesses dependent on reliable electricity in Rongo town.

“The continuous power outages have not only hampered daily business operations but also increased insecurity in the region,” Otianga emphasized.

He added that it is high time the relevant bodies explain why the power supply remains unstable for months on end.

His remarks were echoed by Timon Omiti, who called on Kenya Power officials to provide transparent explanations.

“We want the officers from Kenya Power to clarify why the outages have persisted for such an extended period. Our businesses and community deserve reliable electricity,” Omiti asserted.
