Gukena Radio host and comedian MC Kajim has officially launched the Kajim Talent Hub, a new initiative aimed at helping young creatives monetise their talents by tapping into the digital space. MC Kajim’s new initiative seeks to mentor and monetise raw talent at grassroots. (R) Dennis Itumbi enjoys cake after launch.  The program will focus on identifying raw talent at the grassroots level, providing mentorship, and ultimately giving these young talents a platform to showcase their skills to the world. Who were the guests at Kajim Talent Hub? The grand launch took place at Glee Hotel, Runda, Nairobi, on Friday, October 5.

It was a star-studded event officiated by Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office. Notable attendees at the invite-only event included veteran musician Ben Githae, philanthropist Karangu Muraya, former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s personal assistant Kamau Migwi, and several investors. These figures demonstrated immense support for Kajim’s initiative, with many contributing financially to the cause. Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, though absent, was represented and made a generous donation of KSh 750,000, while Itumbi contributed KSh 400,000. Other guests also made contributions, a heartwarming show of support for Kajim’s vision. Is art paying? – MC Kajim

During the event, Kajim outlined his mission to seek out and mentor young creatives, emphasising the arts’ potential to provide employment. “As Kajim, I’ve employed many people under my brand — a manager, photographer, and reels director, among others. Yet, I am just one individual. This is proof that art can pay. My goal is to help young creatives turn their talents into a source of income,” Kajim shared. He also unveiled a few promising talents he has already taken under his wing, including a young acrobat whose impressive performance wowed the guests and a budding musician ready to make waves in the industry. Government to support creatives Speaking at the event, Itumbi pledged continued support for Kajim and other creatives, encouraging them to collaborate to expand their reach and maximize their earnings. He also hinted at the government’s commitment to empowering the creative industry.

“This is a unique moment for creatives to achieve their dreams because the government is prepared to support them. I am here to ensure they receive that support. Let’s focus on changing society — this isn’t about politics. Whether you support President William Ruto or not, we must work together. I’m very impressed with Kajim and will support him fully,” Itumbi remarked. MC Kajim secures scholarship for bright student Previously, Kajim secured a scholarship for Elvis, David Muhia’s best friend.  He had just sponsored Muhia’s entire high school journey, but he also ensured that Elvis, too, could pursue his education without financial constraints. David Muhia, a promising student from Gatundu, faced the prospect of missing out on Form One due to financial difficulties despite scoring an impressive 379 marks in the 2023 KCPE exams.
