Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has moved to revive the influential Gema voting bloc to consolidate support for his 2027 presidential run against William Ruto.

Gema is made up of the Gikuyu, Embu and Meru communities.

However, Kalonzo is now advocating for the inclusion of Kamba into the populous bloc, insisting the letter ‘A’ historically represented the Akamba.

“I don’t know what happened that led to the dismissal of Akamba community from Gema. We are cousins and even our languages are almost similar,” Kalonzo said early this year when he met Kikuyu leaders in Ruaka, Kiambu.

In recent weeks, the Wiper boss has embarked on a strategic campaign for rebirth of the larger Gema, a political wave he is plotting to ride on to unseat President Ruto.
