Nairobi Health Chief Officer Joins Emergency Team, Offers Ambulances to Attend to Injured Protesters

Nairobi county Chief Officer for Health Facilities, Geoffrey Mosiria, has been lauded for providing support to the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protesters. Nairobi Health Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria said the county provided 10 ambulances. What anti-Finance Bill 2024 protester said about Mosiria One of the youth who took part in the anti-finance bill demonstrations praised Mosiria for offering Nairobi county government ambulances to assist those injured.  She asked youths to appreciate leaders who have good intentions for the country “You guys appreciate the leaders who care about the youth, and even next time he will still be there. We have good leaders, not all are bad, and they are our friends,” one of the protesters said. How many ambulances did Nairobi county deploy? During the Thursday, June 20 demonstrations, Mosiria joined part of an emergency team that was moving around the city to help those injured. In a video shared on his Facebook page, Mosiria was seen helping an injured protester by carrying him to one of the ambulances deployed by the county. Mosiria indicated that the county had designated 10 ambulances to help in the rescue mission for injured demonstrators. “We have provided around ten ambulances that are just moving around the city to collect all injured protesters. Our governor directed that all the injured be taken to our facilities for treatment, and as the chief officer in charge, I am just moving with the rescue to ensure the order is implemented,” Mosiria said.  He disclosed that for those who will be unable to pay for the hospital bills, the county will step in and help. Why KMPDU is supporting anti-finance bill demos The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists’ Union (KMPDU) is the latest organisation to publicly support the anti-finance bill protests. In a statement, KMPDU secretary general Davji Atellah said the union fully supported the’rejectfinancebill2024′ protests. He disclosed that the union will provide medical care to all participants in demonstrations.
