Trespassing: DCI sleuths pursuing suspects detained in Tanzania

Five detectives from Buruburu Sub County police in Nairobi county have been arrested by Tanzania police after unknowingly crossing into the neighbouring country.
The five, drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations were investigating a suspected motor vehicle theft syndicate operating between Nairobi and Tanzania.
The DCI officers had apprehended a suspected vehicle thief, Samuel Ngatia who led them to another suspect in Tanzania.
It was when the five; Ali Ibrahim, Joel Osinya, Moses Wainaina, Josephat Mungania and Moses Kiongera arrested the Tanzanian that he raised the alarm attracting the attention of police officers of Tarakea Police Station in Tanzania who were on patrol, who pounced on the officers and arrested them together with the suspect.
Kajiado South DCIO together with officers from Illasit Police Station were unable to secure the release of the officers who were later moved to Rombo Mkuu District headquarters.
The officers are yet to be released.
