Late Pilot Captain Ann Mokua celebrated in emotional mass

Captain Ann Mokua 

Captain Ann Mokua was celebrated as a Formula One-loving Kenyan in a requiem mass on May 23 at ICC, Imara.

Family and friends gathered remembering her love for the sport since 2007

She was also eulogized as a warm, compassionate, and vibrant soul.

“She was a proud and dignified woman who had a passion for life telling it exactly as she saw it. she had a wonderful sense of humor which endeared her to almost everyone she came in contact with. “

The family reflected on her life.

She died on 11th May 2024, she was involved in a fatal car crash along Thika road 

“Wambui’s legacy of excellence, dedication, and love will forever inspire those of us privileged to have known her“

Her workmates from the national carrier recalled their 20-year career together.

Captain Ann Wambui Kariuki Mokua was alone in her Honda Civic car when the accident happened on Saturday, May 11 morning.

Police said she was driving from Nairobi and headed in Thika’s direction when the accident happened.

Witnesses and police said she was driving in the first left lane when her car rammed into a trailer.

The lorry had developed mechanical issues and stalled on the road.

The driver of the lorry did not erect a warning as required.

Following the impact of the accident, Captain Ann Mokua was removed from the badly damaged car and rushed to the nearby Kenyatta University Referral Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said she had suffered serious head injuries.
