Nairobi: Police Officer Allegedly Shoots Dead Marikiti Trader Who Refused to Give KSh 400 Bribe

The 37-year-old dealing in groceries had arrived from his farm with pepper supplies for sale when he caught the attention of a police officer, who suspected inside one of the sacks was marijuana, witnesses confided in Citizen TV. The officer, a John Kamau, then sought to inspect the sacks out of which he did not find the substances he had suspected. Maingi on his part had only KSh 200 to give, which did not sit well with the officer.
