Eric Omondi Stunned by Pictures of Him Being Paraded as Missing Person by Bobi Wine's NUP Party

Political activist Eric Omondi has been stunned after his photos surfaced in Uganda. Uganda's NUP paraded Eric Omondi's photos.  Why were Eric Omondi's photos showcased in Uganda? The images showed National Unity Platform (NUP) members holding Eric's photos.

The party, allied to singer-turned-opposition leader Bobi Wine, claimed Eric was their member who disappeared. "Where is he? He was born on August 19, 1989, and was last seen in Lwakalolo in Rakai," the message on one poster readAnother one claimed that Eric was Kirya Peter, a head teacher in Masindi.

"When the District Internal Security Officer (DISO) came with Museveni's posters to pin them on school buildings, he told him the school doesn’t engage in partisan politics." The DISO allegedly threatened him before arresting him in February 2021. Eric shared the images on Wednesday, October 30, on X while wondering what was happening. "Aaiih Uganda. What is this?" he wondered. TUKO.co.ke established that the NUP first paraded Eric's photos in 2022 while demanding answers about their members' whereabouts. They accused security forces of abducting members of the opposition.

The post amused many Kenyans, who reacted by writing: @_Detar: “Kirya Peter Omondi. You have been a fugitive all this time.” @daguindd: “You are the poster boy of revolution in Uganda. The Matrix is broken, and the parallel universe collides with ours.”  @Naomikibandi: “Go back to your land of matoke.” @Mmutisya_fra: “Are our neighbours okay?” @muridhidun: “When did you move to Uganda?” @wangalambuzi: “It must have been choreographed by some woman missing you.”
